Rick DeFazio’s father, John DeFazio, founded Electric Sales Unlimited in January 1976. Rick DeFazio joined ESU after receiving his MBA from Pepperdine University and his BSBA from the University of Phoenix. Rick completed his Certified Professional Manufacturers Representative (CPMR®) course in 1995.
Rick worked for ESU from 1990 through 2004, in capacities ranging from warehouse, inside sales, outside sales and part of the management team. From 2005 through 2015, Rick was a principal and shareholder with Brazill Brothers & Associates in the New York, Philadelphia and Washington DC territories. Forty years to the day after his father founded ESU, DeFazio Industries was formed in January 2016 covering the mid-Atlantic region. DeFazio Industries is one of the fastest growing rep firms in the region, covering Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Anthony DeFazio began his electrical career working for Brazill Brothers & Associates in a part-time role as one of the company’s initial CRM administrators. His responsibilities included included developing standards for effective database management, quotations/lead tracking, and spearheading a digital marketing program.
Since DeFazio Industries was formed, Anthony has served as an Inside Sales Representative and Account Manager, bringing years of experience in automation and customer relationship management to the company. Anthony has completed two years of the three-year Certified Professional Manufacturers Representative Program (CPMR®) program and will received his certification in 2019.
Due to his background in sales automation, Anthony also serves as principal CRM administrator for DeFazio Industries. The company leverages its CRM platform for project mining, quotations management, new product campaigns, and workflow automation.
Michael DeFazio began his electrical career working for Brazill Brothers & Associates in a part-time role as one of the company’s initial CRM Administrators. His responsibilities included developing standards for database management, cross-referencing accounts between a myriad of manufacturers, and developing standard work for project management, quotations management, and the integration of social media, and email marketing campaigns.
Since DeFazio Industries was formed, Michael has served as an inside sales representatives and account manager, bringing their years of experience in automation and customer relationship management to the company. Michael has completed two years of the three-year Certified Professional Manufacturers Representative Program (CPMR®) program and will received his certification in 2019.
The DeFazio family has been servicing the electrical manufacturers representative industry for more than forty years. In 1976, Rick DeFazio’s father, John DeFazio, founded Electric Sales Unlimited in Southern California. Over the past several decades, ESU has grown to become one of the largest manufacturers representative firms in America – covering Arizona, California, and Nevada. Rick DeFazio worked at ESU from 1989 through 2004, serving in various positions throughout the company. In 2005, Rick moved to the East Coast and joined Brazill Brothers & Associates as a shareholder and Sales Manager. In 2016, Rick sold his interest in the company, and founded DeFazio Industries. "Looking back, I've had one of the most unique experiences in the electrical industry. I've had the good fortune to work with two successful rep firms from the west coast to the east coast," Rick stated. "Those experiences have given me a broad background, and have taught me how to succeed in a myriad of circumstances. DeFazio Industries is the culmination of those experiences, where we're building tomorrow's rep firm in every sense of the word."
The third generation of the DeFazio family in the industry include Rick's sons, Anthony and Michael DeFazio. "My sons have worked with me part-time for a number of years, and have learned how a rep firm operates from the inside out. They've undertaken a wide range of responsibilities including sales administration, data management, marketing, social media and enterprise-level customer relationship management," Rick stated. “After a relatively short time, they took over a number of areas of our business, and have designed, developed and implemented a number of successful, industry-leading initiatives.”
